Taking online courses can be very convenient but it’s definitely not plain sailing! You’ll need commitment, willpower and strong motivation in order to get the most out of the course. Here are a few of our top tips!

Understand your expectations

Many people make the mistake of thinking that online learning courses are going to be easier than classroom-based.However, that is not always the case! In fact, some might say that learning online is actually more difficult. You need to be able to self-motivate, remove distractions and be self-disciplined. If you’re not able to do these then you may struggle with online learning.

Dedicated study zone

Having a dedicated study area is very important for helping to get you in the zone. Ask your family and friends to respect your study time so you can get as much done as you can without interruptions.

Ask for help

There’s no shame in asking for some help with your learning. After all , these courses aren’t a walk in the park!  Don’t forget that your tutor is available at any point throughout your course. Our learning platform allows tutors to track your progress and make sure you are moving at the pace you should be.

Review, revise, repeat

Regular re-caps of topics will help to ensure you not only remember what you’ve been learning, but fully understand it as well.  Quiz yourself often using the skills checks provided on the learning platform. These quizzes are self marking and will show you where you have gone wrong so you can go back and revise that topic.

Stay motivated

It can be hard to stay on track with your study routine but it’s important to remove all distractions and remind yourself of your goals. you can read our Top 5 Tips for Staying Motivated here.
