You don’t need any prior qualifications to enrol on this course.

You will need to complete an initial assessment to check that the level is right for you. Don’t worry, if there are items that you need to practice as we will incorporate these into your program of study.

If you cannot sit your exam at one of our centres, you will need to make your own arrangements with your local exam centre.

Think Employment can’t offer any assistant in finding exam centres outside of our catchment area, we have testing centres in London, Manchester, Leeds, Hull and Grimsby. If you’re near one of our centres then you will be able to sit your exam there.

How many hours will it take?

The guided learning hours for this course is 45 hours.

Is there a time limit for how long I can take to complete?

You can take as long as you need to complete the course. There is no time limit.

How will I be studying?

All of your learning material is available on our dedicated learning platform.

The platform is accessible on all devices and is available 24/7.

What assessments will I have to do?

There are 3 exams for this course, Reading, Writing, and Speaking & Listening. Depending on your support package, you will also have the option to attempt marked mock exams before you take your final exam.

Where will I take my exams?

We have our own examination centres in Leeds, Grimsby, Hull and Stockport. If you cannot get to these locations, you’ll need to make arrangements with an examination centre near you.

There’s alot to consider when trying to work out how long a course may take someone.  First of all you need to be at a certain level prior to starting, this is why we offer our Initial Assessments free of charge.  So that you can be sure you’re starting the right course for you.  Once you’ve done the Initial Assessment you will then go through a Diagnostic which will go into more detail and show us your strengths and weaknesses.  We will then ask you to go through the units that you need practice in.

In general though, the awarding bodies state that the Guided Learning Hours for this qualification is 55.  You can use the calculator below to work out how many days the qualification is likely to take you.
